The inaugural FORMULA 1TM SingTel Singapore Grand Prix took place on 28 September on a street circuit of public roads around the Marina Bay area. The race was the first Formula OneTM to be held at night, and the first Formula OneTM street race in Asia. Over 100,000 spectators, a sell-out, capacity crowd, watched the Singapore Grand Prix trackside. The 2009 FORMULA 1TM SingTel Singapore Grand Prix will take place from 25-27 September 2009 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit in the heart of downtown Singapore. Singapore GP Pte Ltd is the race promoter for the FORMULA 1TM SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. It holds five-year renewable rights to stage the Singapore Grand Prix, beginning with the 2008 Season. Singapore’s premier illusionists J C Sum and ‘Magic Babe’ Ning have signed a first-of-its-kind landmark deal to produce and star in Singapore's first permanent illusion show at The Arena for 16 months, starting from 1 September 2008 to 31 December 2009. The illusion show will run 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday with show times at 5pm &7pm. The opening season of the show, entitled “Ultimate Magic”, will showcase a version of J C Sum’s signature ‘Impossible Teleportation’ mega illusion, where he will attempt to teleport into The Arena from across the country, while surrounded by spectators. Other highlights of the show include an original illusion with a giant 8-ft industrial fan, Ning’s dangerous escape from a ‘Deathbed of Spikes’ and an action-packed motorcycle illusion sequence.
